It is located in an abandoned quarry in Songjiang, China, about 50 kilometers from Shanghai. The hotel has a large number of dining options, 336 in total, as well as 336 rooms and suites. InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland is an unconventional hotel that extends space beneath the ground by reflecting the natural landscape of the quarry, in contrast to the Chinese tradition of building high-rises. At the end of the descent, guests can go to the clam-inspired bar or lounge in the curving sea anemone chairs that bear subtle shades of pearls and bits of blue against their striking velvet undercarriages.
8) MANTA RESORT ZANZIBAR, TANZANIA
Located on the most beautiful island in East Africa, Zanzibar's Manta Resort is elevated and crafted along an idyllic beach. Jules' Undersea Lodge was once a research institute named after Jules Verne, author of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. The only underwater accommodation on this list, it's located 6 meters (21 feet) under water and guests need to scuba dive to reach it. Even if you're not a certified diver, you can expect to spend a couple of hours in a diving course before heading below to your night's destination.. There are views of the ocean as well as various fish and marine life to see, including tropical angelfish and barracuda as well as parrotfish and snappers. In Stockholm, a sculptor and artist has created a floating cabin that was originally submerged but was modified with special coatings so it can now be exposed to the public. It's 1 kilometer away from the mainland and situated in Västeråsfjärden. The cozy little red cottage is situated on a floating jetty in Lake Mälaren so guests can enjoy sunbathing and swimming in the lake. The 25 sqm cabin (270 sqft) is split in two different areas on the upper level, the bedroom sits 10 feet underwater with panoramic windows, a kitchenette, and a dock for a boat. This hotel is able to house 2 people and would make a nice gift for any wedding or birthday occasion.
